Ven. Maha Ghosananda in Cambodia.

Venerable Maha Ghosananda, the “Gandhi of Cambodia”, is our late honorary founding patron. His teachings and life example continue to inspire us, as they first did when KEAP was founded western Massachusetts, a home base for Maha, in 1988. Through the peace and reconciliation walks that he led, crisscrossing Cambodia annually since 1992, no single individual contributed more to ending the civil war that continued to plague Cambodia from the end of the Khmer Rouge era until the late 1990s. Maha Ghosananda was a strong voice for interfaith dialogue and tolerance. He traveled to many parts of the world to lend his voice – often only a few cogent words! – for the cause of peace.
